Feathercoin uses the NeoScrypto hashing algorithm for network consensus and mining difficulty adjusts after every block. New blocks are added every 60 seconds, on average. Feathercoin also relies on Automatic Checkpointing to protect the history of the Feathercoin blockchain and protect against 51% attacks, which was added in August 2013 after Feathercoin suffered a 51% attack in Jun 2013.
